Physical: Toma is tall but slight, much to the annoyance of his father who had wanted the football star and press-up master. Toma dislikes any sort of rough-housing and most of the time will refuse to come to blows, preferring instead to talk circles around them, though it doesn't necessarily work all the time. He is considered almost effeminate with his swish of black hair, wiry frame, and dark black/brown eyes. He wears glasses, having a stigmatism in his eyes and being annoyingly nearsighted, also it belies the potential destruction he can wreak if truly agitated. He has a bump in his nose where it was broken in a fight with Lux when he had to room with the agitating Elf one semester. A purely physical fight, Toma leapt at him almost unexpectedly, but to this day Toma claims Lux cheated by using magic

Personality: A non-violent type, but will fight if he feels the cause is necessary or if someone really does utterly piss him off (ie Lux). Otherwise, he's extremely slow to anger and even tempered, genteel almost, and has a passion for learning. He wants to be a Wizard of the High Order, and is currently pursuing that goal with a single-minded intensity. He's persistent, and doesn't tend to give up easily when pursuing something interesting, like a certain spell, or a mixture of something that would aid him in his pursuits.

Bio: From a stubborn, extremely right-wing family, racist, sexist, and the very epitome of all things 'good', 'moral' and 'right'. Toma has been the bane of his fathers existence for a very long time, a father who wanted a football star, big and burly and dabbling with all the women he could, but Toma just wasn't like that. He had a passion for learning and study, he enjoyed writing and drawing and english, excelling in all his classes. His father tried a number of ways to make him into the son he always wanted, kiddie baseball, pee-wee football, boys soccer, nothing worked, he'd skip practice to read, or talk the coach into letting him out. Everything he did seemed like a sleight to his father, his good grades often put his father in a 'mood'. However, Toma hid a much darker, much more terrible secret from his father than merely his dislike of sports. Toma harbored a love of men, rather than women, and even in his youth, he knew it was that, that small fact, that would be the Ultimate Sin in his household. Little did he know.

His power manifested early, something rather out of the blue, if you'll pardon the phrase, somewhere in sixth grade, he had fallen asleep in class and had managed to project himself out of his body and do things, rather like a ghost can make things rattle, shake, slam and bang, rather, he took notes while his body slept, and when the teacher approached him and woke him, his notes had been taken and, startled, his teacher apologized. Not long after that he was approached by Daeris. He claimed to be his Guardian, a soul phoenix, woken after many years by the call of his power, blah, blah, blah (most of this Toma doesn't actually remember, as he was eleven at the time and Dae has a tendency to 'wax eloquent' shall we say?) and would bond with him to help with his powers.

Toma agreed to the arrangement, Dae taking on Toma's wandering soul into himself, and Toma taking care of Dae as his familiar, they have a symbiotic relationship with one another. However, there was also the issue of people seeing Daeris. More importantly, his parents, who did not like animals in the slightest. With the arrangement they had, Dae couldn't be too far from Toma at any given time, lest Toma collapse without the contact of his soul. However it wasn't something that was impossible and they managed, keeping the presence of Dae fairly quiet, until a few days before Toma's graduation.

The instance in question was when Toma had stayed behind at school, mostly to play with Dae and talk to him. He hadn't realized the time, his father had been sent to pick him up and witnessed Toma practicing with Dae magically and his right-wing father went ballistic. He got home with more than a few bruises to which he wrote off as falling at school and Dae fled, weakening Toma. The days that followed were not pleasant for Toma, his father made sure he was miserable, felt bad for working 'unholy magicks', for being evil, for being all manner of horrid person.

Toma left home shortly after graduation, the pressure too great, so he left the unhealthy environment, Dae having returned to him after his father discovered him, and set on his own. Picked up a job, an apartment, and a life for awhile, until he got a missive, inviting him to the university, and he has been here since, trained, and given an aspiration, which he is training for now.

Position: Switch, but more often bottoms.
